Privacy Policy
Hold to Speed for YouTube (Chrome extension) · Developer: Lark Brooks · Effective 2026-10-09
What is collected
Nothing. Hold to Speed for YouTube does not collect, store on any server, transmit, share, or sell any personal or usage data. It has no account system, no analytics, and makes no network requests of its own.
What is stored, and where
Only your own settings — key bindings, hold speed, seek step, and whether the on-screen indicator is shown. They are saved through Chrome's storage.sync API, which keeps them in your browser and in your own Chrome sync account. The developer has no access to them at any time.
How the data is used
Those settings are read by the extension on YouTube pages so that it behaves the way you configured it. They are used for nothing else.
Sharing and disclosure
No data is shared with the developer, with third parties, with advertisers, or with data brokers, because none leaves your browser. Nothing is sold under any circumstances.
Retention and deletion
Your settings stay in your browser until you change or delete them. Reset them from the extension's options, or remove the extension — uninstalling deletes its stored settings along with it.
Permissions
| Permission | Why it is needed |
storage | To save your own settings — keys, hold speed, seek step. |
Host access to https://www.youtube.com/* | To listen for key presses on YouTube video pages and control the player. The extension runs on no other site. |
Limited Use disclosure
The use of information received from Google APIs, and of any user data handled by this extension, adheres to the Chrome Web Store User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements. In practice this extension handles no data beyond your local settings: nothing is transferred to the developer or anyone else, nothing is used for advertising or creditworthiness, and no human reads your data.
Children
The extension is not directed at children and collects no data from anyone, regardless of age.
Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, the effective date above changes with it, and the updated version is published at this same address.
